World Safety Month 2025: Shared Vigilance and No Mind at Risk Across ENGIE Southeast Asia

WellbeingHealth & Safety

At ENGIE, safety is more than a policy—it’s a value that runs deep across our teams.

Throughout April, we commemorated World Safety and Health Month across Southeast Asia, reaffirming our commitment to ENGIE One Safety and the principle of No Mind at Risk.

From health initiatives and leadership engagement to new digital tools, the month reflected our belief that real safety is built through shared vigilance, collective responsibility, and continuous improvement.

Empowering a Culture of Care Through Action

Safety at ENGIE starts with leadership—and is reinforced every day by the actions of our people.

Across Southeast Asia, colleagues continue to demonstrate daily vigilance—through final safety checks, open reporting, and mindful interventions that protect themselves and those around them.

Their commitment shows that safety is not just about following rules—it is about genuine care for people, systems, and futures.

Strengthening Our Safety Culture Through Initiatives

A series of key initiatives made this year’s World Safety and Health Month a meaningful one:

  1. Launch of the One Safety Tool (OST) App (1 April 2025)
The new OST Web and Mobile App enables real-time reporting of safety rituals, including Managerial Safety Visits (MSV), Life Saving Checks (LSC), and Toolbox Talks—strengthening proactive and data-driven safety practices across all worksites.
  2. Staff Health Screening (21–25 April 2025)
In partnership with the Health Outreach Programme (HOP), we offered free basic health screenings to employees across the region, with options for more extensive packages. This initiative reinforced that investing in health is essential to a stronger, safer workforce..
  3. World Safety and Health Day Observance (24 April 2025)
Our Southeast Asia Safety team observed World Safety and Health Day with an opening address by Varun Gujral, Country Manager for Southeast Asia, who highlighted the importance of Shared Vigilance—looking out not only for ourselves, but for one another.
    Key highlights included:
    • The launch of the No Mind at Risk (NMR) Committee, to strengthen awareness around mental resilience and psychological safety.
    • A road traffic safety talk by a guest speaker from the Singapore Traffic Police Force, linking back to two of ENGIE’s Life Saving Rules.
    • Recognition of top 3 interventions by employees that helped prevent potential incidents.
  4. Celebrating Vigilance across our team

Safety comes to life in the everyday actions of our teams. In honour of this commitment, we are also sharing the voices and reflections of colleagues across Southeast Asia—highlighting how vigilance, care, and shared responsibility are embedded into daily work.

A Shared Commitment to a Safer Tomorrow

At ENGIE, safety is not a one-day observance—it is a mindset and a daily commitment.
World Safety and Health Month strengthened both the systems and the culture that underpin our vision of No Mind at Risk—where every mind, every life, and every workplace is valued and protected.

Beyond leadership and initiatives, the true strength of our safety culture lies in the commitment shown by our teams on the ground.

From quick final checks to courageous interventions, every act of vigilance builds a safer tomorrow.

We remain committed to building workplaces where mental resilience, physical protection, and collective care are part of how we work, every day..

As we move forward, we remain committed to building workplaces where mental resilience, physical protection, and collective care come together—and where safety is truly a way of life.
